The addiction counselling team of The Bethesda Recovery Homes has a proven history, as individuals and as a team, of productive recoveries behind them. Our counsellors have not only survived years of horrendous addictions of their own; they have each taken on what looked to be impossible and made it possible. Colin, our Programme Director, due to 15 years of his own heroin addiction, underwent treatment in one of Europe's top treatment clinics in England. Since getting clean in 1993, Colin made it one of his goals to return to that clinic and train as an addictions counsellor in that very effective psychotherapeutic style. Once this was achieved, he moved to South Africa in 2001 where he started the process of building this team. Since that time Colin and his wife, Deanna, have made Plettenberg Bay their home and The Bethesda Recovery Homes their life's call; and the team has simply gone from strength to strength.
