As we approach the 3rd “anniversary” of my beloved daughter’s freedom from addiction, I marvel at God’s goodness and grace! Not a day goes past when I don’t in great humility give thanks to Him and those who led her to “freedom” and healing.

As a mother who had watched the pain, destruction and desperate situation of hopeless addiction where I watched and experienced my daughter dying slowly before my eyes, I feel huge compassion for every parent who has to go through this pain with their child.

We as parents had done everything we could to help her, including the best treatment centres on offer. As a committed Christian I had been on my knees before God daily and NEVER gave up hope….this is my message to you reading this letter. NEVER GIVE UP!!  I knew the dangers and the sad statistics involved in heroin addiction but as much as many days I was close to desperation, God never let go of me or of her!

My joy and peace was immense when she was eventually referred to Bethesda. When I dropped her there I left with immense peace in my heart. I remember Colin’s words to me at the car…”Its all about Grace and Truth”

I remember so clearly the place and time where I was when my daughter phoned me and told me she had surrendered to Christ she had an amazing, soft and gentle encounter with Jesus in a group session one morning. I pulled off the busy highway and wept uncontrollably in relief, joy and gratitude.

I have seen in the past 3 years her grow and develop back to the lovely, beautiful daughter I had raised and adored. I cannot recommend highly enough Bethesda and the team. The place exudes peace, love and a centre of hope. I believe that God used all the treatment centres as a stepping stone to her freedom from addiction but that her inner healing and actual encounter led to her recovery. She remains strong and she is totally committed to her recovery.

She is fully integrated into society, has a wonderful job and is leading a “normal” full life again….I can truly sing “Praise God from whom all blessings flow!”

Thank you Colin, Dee and team for your love, skills and knowledge, for Bethesda, a true place of healing! May God continue to use you all in His plan to draw us all to Himself!
